Germany – Bachmann Electronic defies crisis and continues success course in tough environment
For 40 years, Bachmann has impressed the experts with extraordinary complete system solutions in automation technology. Exceptional technology and innovative approaches are hallmarks of Bachmann electronic, an internationally active high-tech company headquartered in Feldkirch (Austria).
Founded in 1970, the company today employs 374 people worldwide. Bachmann electronic currently has five subsidiaries in Germany, the Czech Republic, China, USA, India and two offices in Denmark and the Netherlands.
In the 2009 financial year, Bachmann electronic earned revenues of 52.3 million euros. Its target was to maintain the previous year's level of 50.4 million euros (2008) and not drop below it. This target was exceeded by far - revenue was up 3.8 percent over the previous year: And so Bachmann electronic recorded impressive results for the year 2009, bucking the trend of severe declines resulting from the financial and economic crisis. This remarkable result was achieved primarily due to the stronger sector focus pushed in the last three years and growth into additional geographic markets. Bachmann recorded a significant surge in Asia, where governments are promoting wind energy. Since September 2009, Bachmann electronic has been represented in China with an additional branch in Beijing.
Bachmann invested around 12 million euros in expanding its headquarters in Feldkirch. The expansion of 5,500 square meters provides an annual capacity of 500,000 control modules and 15,000 operator panels.
In 2010, Bachmann electronic plans sales of 58 million euros; the company also intends to add 55 employees. Following the motto: "We're more than a controller supplier", Bachmann intends to establish itself in all target markets as a reliable partner for complex comprehensive projects and various special tasks.
After doubling capacity through completion of the new building, Bachmann electronic plans further investments of over six million euros in the areas of production and development next year. In all its business developments, Bachmann electronic's utmost goal is to maintain its financial independence.
