Chile - Australian Firm seeks to expand its wind projects portfolio.
The Australian firm Pacific Hydro is evaluating the possibility of a major investment in renewable energy projects in the country, with special emphasis on wind energy.
The CEO of the company in Chile revealed that they plan to produce around 300 MW, through an investment that reaches up to U.S. $ S900 million, toward the next 5 years.
They are currently studying the wind potential mainly in 6 geographical areas, which extend from the Far North to the southern island of Chiloé. They believe that such studies include the one year period in order to define, by mid-2010, the necessary resources.
