France - Vestas receives 12 turbine order
Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received an order for 12 of its V80 2.0-MW wind turbines to be installed in France. The contract includes supply, installation, commissioning, a VestasOnline SCADA system and a 10-year service agreement.
At the customer's request, Vestas has not disclosed details of the project's ownership or exact location.
As of June 30, 2008, Vestas France had a cumulative installed capacity of 587 MW of wind generating capacity. In 2007, 888 MW were installed in France taking the cumulative capacity to 2,471 MW, making France the fourth largest European market in wind generating capacity.
