USA - KS Energy wins contract from Siemens for wind power services
KS Energy Services Ltd., the maker of drilling equipment for the oil and gas industry, won a $43.9 million contract from a unit of Siemens AG to provide a vessel for a wind power project in the North Sea.
KS Energy, based in Singapore, will supply a "lift boat" to help install wind turbines, the company told reporters today.
The contract with Siemens will start on Oct. 5 and run until December 2010, KS Energy said.
KS Energy will also buy Amsterdam-based S.M.S. Group BV, a provider of manpower to offshore drilling rigs, for S$6 million ($4.2 million), the company said.
