SSB wins major order from wpd AG

wpd AG, world-wide developer and operator of renewable energy power plants (IRPP) will in future increasingly rely on SSB Service GmbH, Rheine for providing a complete service for its wind turbine generator systems.

Already at the end of June 2008, wpd and SSB Service signed a service agreement initially covering 46 wind turbines (WTGS) of the 1.5 MW category. According to a framework agreement drawn up between both companies, SSB Service will in future also provide a full service package for 114 wind turbines of the 1.5 MW category located throughout Germany. It is anticipated that individual agreements for these wind turbines will be signed by May 2009.

wpd AG and its subsidiaries already operate worldwide in some 20 countries and currently employ 300 employees. To date, companies of the wpd group have assisted with approximately 1,400 WTGS with a total capacity of 2,000 MW up to the commissioning stage. wpd is also one of the leading developers for offshore projects.
