USA - Nebraska's first wind energy conference set
The first wind energy conference in the state of Nebraska will be held in November.
The conference is designed to bring nationally known wind power experts for sessions on small wind turbines, land issues, financing and other topics.
The event will be held Nov. 11 and 12 in Kearney, as hosted by the Nebraska Wind Working Group and the Nebraska Energy Office. To register for the conference, visit the Web site of www.neo.ne/gov/conferencesignup.htm.
Midwest states are increasingly tapping into wind resources for power.
In November 2007, a wind energy conference sponsored by Iowa State University Extension of Woodbury County was held at the Sioux City Convention Center. ISU-Extension education director Sherry McGill said a previous conference in 2005 as well-attended, and there was even more interest for the 2007 conference.
