La Défense, 29th November 2024 - Prysmian has received the "Innovation and Innovative Technologies" award, presented by Business France as part of the Choose France program, during the States of France ceremony on Thursday, November 28 at the Palais d'Iéna, Paris. This distinction was awarded due to Prysmian's commitment to investing in its high and very high voltage industrial Excellence sites located in France. To meet the evolving uses of electricity and the energy mix, which require massive investments for new interconnection needs, Prysmian has invested €76.6M in the Gron site (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) between 2020 and 2022, receiving public support of €5M under the France relaunch 2023 program, creating 70 new jobs with 70 more to come. The group has also invested €55.5M in the Montereau-Fault-Yonne site (Île-de-France) since 2020, with full deployment expected by 2026, creating 40 new jobs with 60 more to come. Prysmian has been actively recruiting for several years. Most of these jobs are dedicated to the production of very high voltage cables at the Gron and Montereau-Fault-Yonne sites, enabling the deployment of P-Laser technology: a 100% recyclable, eco-sustainable, high-performance cable used in the German Corridors project, the world's longest underground electrical link. This massive investment is essential for supporting the group's social, environmental, and economic ambitions across its nine industrial sites in France.

"The winners of the Choose France 2024 Awards demonstrate the concrete and structuring impact of foreign investors on the French economy. [...] These companies, through their projects, actively contribute to innovation, the competitiveness of our territories, and the construction of a more sustainable and inclusive economy," said Pascal Cagni, President of Business France.

Marcello Del Brenna, General Manager of Prysmian, Southern Europe region, added: "Receiving this award as part of the prestigious Choose France program is recognition by the French state of the Group's commitment to strengthening its presence in France for the deployment of the energy transition, and is an additional motivation to continue investing in this field in France. I would like to thank all our teams within the Group, and especially in France, who made this result possible."
