Future Trade Fair for the Baltic Region, premier occurrence 18 – 20 November 2008
For the first time the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will bring together trendsetting companies of the high-tech industry, particularly of the Maritime Supply Industry. Representatives from the littoral states of the Baltic Sea will present their innovations at the specialized fair BalticFuture. The expansion into the entire Baltic region lends an international character to the event. The maritime location of the fair site Rostock as a hub for Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic States is predestined for trade fairs of an international nature.
On approximately 2.500 m² exhibitors and traders of shipping, yachting and technical equipment, ship- and boat building as well as machinery will present their products. The nomenclature also comprises businesses and institutions related to electronics, logistics, consultancy and science. Core themes are Maritime Transport Logistics and Offshore.
The fair particularly appeals to professional visitors such as decision makers, sales managers and purchasers of ship yards, shipping companies and marine- and offshore businesses. Further target groups are ship owners, boat builders as well as experts of science and consultancy institutions.
Aside from being a first-rate specialized fair the BalticFuture is designed to provide unique opportunities for networking and congress. A professional activity programme offers workshops, symposia, conference activities and product presentations focussing on innovation in the maritime economy and marketing. An expert advisory board ensures the supreme quality of the professional activity programme.
It is especially the topic of transport logistics that attracts wide interest in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The concept has already been successfully introduced to the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Tourism of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and to the respective Chambers of Commerce, particularly the Maritime Board. It is under the patronage of Jürgen Seidel, Minister for Economy, Labour and Tourism of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Among others the Rostock Chamber of Commerce, Rostock Business, the Maritime Alliance Baltic Region e.V. and Maza MV e.V. have made contributions to the concept and have also supported it through active cooperation in the advisory board.
The trade fair is scheduled for 18 – 20 November 2008. At the same time and place the 3rd Maritime Future Conference of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will be held. The BalticFuture will take place on an annual cycle. It is organized by the “Rostocker Messe- und Stadthallengesellschaft mbH” and expotec international GmbH & Co. KG, a renowned international organizer from Berlin.
