REpower and Enertad sign contract about 160 MW for projects in Italy and France
Hamburg/Genoa, 9 May 2008. Today, REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) and Enertad – a subsidiary of the Italian energy and petroleum company ERG – have signed a framework agreement for the supply of wind turbines with an individual capacity of 2 MW, up to a total of 80 units, including an option for 30. As a result, Enertad is able to ensure the supply for an overall capacity of 160 MW.
The wind turbines will mostly be used on Enertad projects within Italy. 12 of the 30 optional turbines may potentially be destined for the French market, where Enertad is already present with an installed capacity of 55 MW.
The framework agreement will be valid until 31 July 2009, while the option on the 30 additional wind turbines is exercisable until September 2008. The order of the turbines covered by the agreement is scheduled to commence during the summer of 2009, for completion by the end of 2010.
Enertad’s Managing Director, Raffaele Tognacca, commented: “REpower is an important partner and we consider this agreement to be strategic in that it gives an even more tangible form to the realisation of our development plans in the wind business in Italy and abroad.”
Carlo Schiapparelli, REpower’s Country Manager in Italy, stated: “We are particularly pleased to have reached this new agreement, which confirms the Parties’ intention to give future continuity to the successful cooperation currently in place.”
