REpower Systems AG: Statement on today’s news coverage in Financial Times Deutschland
Hamburg, 08 February 2008. The executive board of REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) comments the articles „Indians want to squeeze money out of wind power company”, „Doubting Suzlon’s financial power“ and „Clever Indians“ that were published today in Financial Times Deutschland as follows: The executive board peremptorily rejects the speculations on an „acrimonious battle“ or „dispute“ between REpower and SUZLON induced in the article and affirms that REpower acts in full compliance with the provisions of the German Stock Companies Act.
The relocation of jobs abroad which was denoted in the commentary „Clever Indians“ is also not in accordance with the facts. On the contrary: REpower has initiated numerous investments for the expansion of its German production capacities in the past months. A production hall, a rotor blade factory in Bremerhaven as well as an administration and production facility in Osterrönfeld (Schleswig-Holstein) are planned and partly already under construction.
Several hundred new jobs will be created on the new German company sites. All the projects have unanimously been approved by REpower’s supervisory board.
