RES has submitted a planning application for their fourteen-turbine Unshinagh Wind Farm, four kilometres west of Carnlough in Northern Ireland. If approved, Unshinagh would have the capability to deliver one of the cheapest forms of new electricity generation for around 70,000 homes.

Not only could Unshinagh benefit the local community with a vital economic boost, but it will also create skilled, sustainable jobs and help to drive a cleaner and more resilient economy. It’s estimated that the development would involve a capital spend of £61 million. Of this total, £24.7 million will be realised within the Northern Ireland economy.
