Statkraft selects turbine manufacturer for Chilean wind farm
Norwegian company Statkraft has placed an order with the Nordex Group for 19 N163/5.X turbines for Chile. The order includes a premium service contract for three years.
The Delta4000 turbines are destined for the 110 MW "Torsa" project. The wind farm will be located in central Chile in the municipality of Litueche in the General Liberator Bernardo O'Higgins region, south of Santiago de Chile. The Nordex Group will deliver the turbines in spring 2022 on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 148 meters. Once completed, 'Torsa' will feed around 300 GWh of clean electricity into the Chilean grid, equivalent to the average energy consumption of 100,000 households.
With the Torsa order German Nordex Group received their second Statkraft order in South America. In 2020-12 Statkraft commissioned the Nordex Group to supply and install 91 N163/5.X turbines for the 518.7 MW Ventos de Santa Eugenia project in Brazil.
