Wind Industry Profile of
Hollandse Kust: Iemants and ENGIE Fabricom to Construct Offshore Transformer Station
The scope of work for the joint venture of the Hollandse Kust Noord project consists of the engineering, procurement, construction, offshore installation, connection and testing of the offshore transformer station.
This offshore transformer station consists of a 45-meter-high jacket of 1,930 T and 870 T piles to be placed in 24-meter water depth and a topside structure consisting of 4 decks weighing approx. 4,100 T. The topside structure is 47 meters long, 35 meters wide and 25 meters high (excluding antenna tower and top deck crane).
The Hollandse Kust Noord, West alpha and West beta offshore platforms will be located in the North Sea along the Dutch coast and will be responsible for 40% of the Netherlands’ electricity by 2030.
Engineering works have started, and construction works for the topside and jacket will start in October 2020. Load-out of the jacket is planned for the fall of 2021. The topside is scheduled to leave the yard in Hoboken in the spring of 2022.
