RES renergys Group sells SES Soluções de Energias Sustentáveis
- Brazilian subsidiary SES sold to Pacific Hydro International Pty Ltd
- Strategic focus on European market

St. Gallen/ Ladenburg/ Paraíba, Brazil, 13 December 2006. The RES renergys Group, a developer and operator of wind farms, has sold its Brazilian subsidiary SES Soluções de Energias Sustentáveis (SES) to Pacific Hydro International Pty Ltd of Melbourne. Australia’s leading company in the field of renewable energy has acquired SES including all its projects effective 30 November 2006. The price has not been disclosed.
“After five successful years under our leadership, SES is now at the beginning of a new era. This sale reflects the previously announced focus of our activities on the European market,” stated Ernst Kauder, Commercial Director of renergys GmbH.
The RES renergys Group started operations in Brazil in 1999, founding its subsidiary there in 2001. Together with local partners, it developed wind farms projects with more than 350 MW output. For the RES renergys Group, the sale of SES is a step in the consistent implementation of its previously announced strategy of focusing on the European market. “There are many attractive projects here in the European market. With the support of our strong shareholders, we will steadily push forward with our growth strategy,” added Markus Lesser, also a director of the renergys Group.
