Vattenfall and Marguerite Capital Sign PPA for Wind Energy in Northern Sweden
The "Brännliden" wind farm is scheduled to go online in early 2020 with an installed capacity of 42 MW. The 10 Vestas Vestas V136-4.0 MW wind turbines will generate around 160 GWh of electricity per year in regular operation. Under the agreement, Vattenfall will purchase the wind power generated, provide the balancing power and manage market access and guarantees of origin.
"Marguerite is a leading European investor with clear ambitions in the renewable energy sector, so we are very excited about this cooperation," says Lars Haavik of Vattenfall. "This agreement in turn gives us the opportunity to make our customers long-term offers to purchase renewable electricity. This underpins our goal to be one of the leading providers of PPA."
Vattenfall plans to further expand its PPA portfolio. Currently, the Swedish energy company has approximately 6.2 GW in PPA contracts.
"The collaboration with Vatenfall is an important step in the implementation of the Brännliden wind project for us and we look forward to further developing this relationship with Vattenfall," said Martin Sichelkow, Investment Director at Marguerite.
