USA - State of Ohio awards $100.ooo to local company, foundation and homeowner for local wind/solar energy projects
Ohio's Energy Loan Fund on Thursday announced $450,000 in grants for projects using advanced energy technologies like solar and wind power, with a local company, foundation and homeowner winning about $100,000 of that amount. Locally, the Cincinnati Parks Foundation received $60,218 for an institutional solar and wind energy project; Melink Corp. in Clermont County won $37,200 for a commercial solar project; and J. Robert Warden received $17,447 for a residential project in Butler County that will utilize solar, thermal and wind energy. Melink, a national provider of heating, ventilation and air conditioning products, is building a "green" headquarters in Milford's Gorman Business Park that will meet the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design) specifications. The Energy Loan Fund is administered by the Ohio Department of Development's Office of Energy Efficiency
