Wind Industry Profile of

New Platform-Supply Vessel Christened by Vroon

On 28th of May the ship, which is to be used to supply offshore platforms, was christened VOS Patriot.

The naming ceremony, traditionally a woman's task, took place in the port of Rotterdam and was carried out by Mrs van der Velde, wife of Wim van der Velde, Chief Technical Officer of Seaway Heavy Lifting.

The VOS Patriot is the last in a series of six PX-121 (PSV) supply vessels. It was manufactured in China at the Cosco Guangdong shipyard. Ulstein's patented, eye-catching X-BOW® design ensures smoother ship movements, optimum fuel efficiency and maximum comfort on board.

The first task of the new ship has already been determined: It will initially be used in the Trianel Offshore Wind Farm Borkum II, where Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) is busy with noise mitigation works.
