Vestas wins first V126-3.45 MW order in South Korea
The firm and unconditional order comprises six V126-3.45 MW turbines and is Serveone Co, Ltd.’s first wind power plant. Located on Jaeun Island in South Korea’s Jeonnam province, the project will also be the first project in South Korea featuring V126-3.45 MW turbines. The order highlights how Vestas' global reach and flexible manufacturing setup ensure competitive product offering across the globe.
The order includes supply and supervision of installation as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM4000) service contract in which Vestas guarantees a defined high level of availability and performance. It also includes the SCADA VestasOnline Business system for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance. Delivery is expected to start by the end of 2017.
“Vestas has been present in South Korea for more than 20 years and we are proud of our contribution to the Korean Government's goal of reducing carbon emissions through reliable clean power. The introduction of the V126-3.45M to South Korea demonstrates how we continuously improve the available technology, for the benefit of our customers and the South Korean energy industry,” said Clive Turton, President of Vestas Asia Pacific.
Having installed the first commercial sized turbine in the country in 1995 and around 275 MW in total since then, Vestas has a long and proven track record in South Korea.
