Vestas lands two wind turbine orders for Spain and France

Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems, the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer, has gained orders for a total of 36 MW for two projects in Spain and France

Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems, the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer, has gained orders for a total of 36 MW for two projects in Spain and France. Eólica del Ebro has placed a turnkey order for 10 V90-1.8 MW wind turbines and 3 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines for a wind power plant in Aragon, while Eoliennes de Beausemblant has placed an order for 5 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines and 1 V80-2.0 MW wind turbines. The French wind power plant will be located in the Rhônes-Alpes region.

Ebbe Funk, managing director of Vestas Mediterranean West says the company is delighted with the orders which are the result of five years' close collaboration with Eólica Navarra. Delivery of all turbines will start at the end of 2006, and the wind power plants are due for completion during H1 2007. The news was reported by financial daily newspaper Børsen and in a press release on Vestas' website. Vestas Wind Systems has installed more than 26,000 wind turbines in more than 50 countries worldwide. The company employs 9,600 people and has production facilities in Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, UK, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Australia. In 2004, Vestas Wind Systems generated revenues of DKK 19.1 bn (USD 3.3 bn).
