Britain is already benefiting from an mature offshore wind industry, which has long since grown out of children's shoes. In the future, this effect will be even more pronounced if prices of offshore winds continue to fall further and less public money has to be invested. In addition, the chain of suppliers is increasingly shifting directly into the country, so that only small quantities of products have to be imported.

Andrew Jamieson, Chief Executive Officer of ORE Catapult said, “Our latest report highlights that offshore wind is already a UK success story, but with continued investment and support the industry is capable of delivering so much more," - provided that industry and government work hand in hand. The industry could continue to function as a job engine and the position of Great Britain as an investment hub for offshore wind technology would in turn promote exports to all parts of the world.
