Wind Industry Profile of
Gamesa successful in South East Asia
The Indonesian joint venture PT UPC Sidrap Bayu Energi has commissioned Gamesa to deliver 30 of its G114-2.5 turbines to equip Indonesia's first wind farm which is to be launched in 2018.
This project is part of the Indonesian government program to combine 35 GW in electricity production in a mix of fossil and renewable sources by 2019. In the long term, the goal is to obtain 23% of electricity from renewable sources by 2025.
Meanwhile, Gamesa has received a third order from Thailand. 20 wind turbines of the model G126-2.625 are to be installed in the wind park Mittraphap in the province Nakhon Ratchasima in the south of Thailand. This is the first delivery of this model, providing maximum performance at low wind speeds.
The contracting authority is Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited, market leader for renewable energies in Thailand. The company develops and invests in renewable energies in Asia.
