EGPNA strengthens US market position
“Through these agreements we will continue our strategy to grow in wind and invest in the US, seeking to nearly double our operating capacity over the next four years,” said Rafael Gonzalez, Head of Enel Green Power North America. “This purchase further strengthens our position in the market as a leader in renewable energy and will also lead to millions in local economic investment and the creation of thousands of jobs as we execute the construction and operation of these plants.”
In 2017, EGPNA is expected to complete 800 MW of wind and solar capacity, which include the remaining 200 MW of the 400 MW Cimarron Bend, the company’s largest wind project in the world, the 300 MW Rock Creek wind project in Missouri, the 150 MW Lindahl wind project in North Dakota and the 150 MWdc Aurora solar project, the company’s largest solar facility in the U.S.
EGPNA is currently present in 23 US states and two Canadian provinces and has more than 2.8 GW of managed capacity, of which over 2.4 GW come from wind.
