Financial support for floating turbines: 85 million Euros for floating wind farm in France

The aim is to build an offshore test site with floating turbines by manufacturer Eolfi Offshore France et CGN off the island of Groix. The first four plants will be built with a capacity of 6MW, later two more turbines may be added. The park is located 15 kilometers off the French coast and can support the electricity consumption of the city of Lorient.

34 of the 85 million Euros are subsidies, while 51 million are to be paid back later. The state and the region of Brittany are working together to implement the project.
