Europe: WindEnergy Hamburg 2016 – The world's leading expo for wind energy

All you need to know about WindEurope Summit and WindEnergy Expo this September, in Hamburg

What is this event about?

The combination of WindEurope’s leading industry conference in conjunction with the world's leading trade fair for wind energy will create a one-stop shop for businesses, policymakers and the scientific community. The conference and exhibition will showcase the very best of the industry, highlighting the successes and addressing the challenges facing wind power today.

The event is highly attractive for both exhibitors and visitors, enabling them to attend the only global wind energy expo with its outstanding business opportunities and also the conference with its coverage of the latest industry topics.

Why is there no EWEA annual event this year?

After 34 years of EWEA, we have rebranded to WindEurope, you can see the video explaining our transition at windeurope.org.  WindEurope will continue to provide the wind industry with the leading European conference on an annual basis. In 2016 the conference will take place alongside the WindEnergy Hamburg expo. We have worked with top industry experts to develop a renewed conference format, keeping the overall structure with parallel tracks and A-Z industry topics coverage but we have invested in new session formats, high-level speakers from business, policy and academia to optimise learning and networking opportunities.

Does WindEurope Summit mean political gathering only?

No, it will cover an extensive range of topics: technical, scientific, market updates, new business opportunities and breakthrough innovations, among others. The new name reflects the fact that there is a new format, building on what was valued at our previous events and making improvements to maximise the experience for participants.

Can I still book a stand?

Yes, due to continued demand at the WindEnergy Hamburg expo an extra hall has been added. Contact Raul.Lanzarote@windeurope.org for more information on exhibition opportunities.

Can I still be part of the programme?

Yes, a call for ‘breakthrough abstracts’ will be held from 6 - 19 June 2016. In order for the programme committee to anticipate what might be coming and set aside time for breakthrough presentations, please let us know if you intend to submit a breakthrough abstract.

Can you advise me on which sessions I should attend?

Yes, we are happy to guide you depending on your level of industry knowledge and your learning objectives. Just send an email to conference@windeurope.org.

How can I make the most of WindEurope Summit 2016?

It depends on what your objectives are. If you are an exhibitor, it is easy to get lost with 1,200 other stands and 30,000 people visiting. We have helped companies to maximise their experience whether they are attending, exhibiting, or presenting, thanks to a customised service. WindEurope represents the industry, we care about you and your business. We are at the disposal of all our members to help them make the most of this event.
