UK: Spaldington wind farm in England is in operation
Falck Renewables S.p.A announces that Spaldington Airfield Wind Farm, located 10km north of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom is now in operation.
The plant consists of five Enercon E92 wind turbines and has an installed capacity of 11.75MW, generating approximately 27,000 MWh annually. The renewable energy produced is the equivalent to the energy consumed by 7,000 homes and will save almost 12,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Toni Volpe, Falck Renewables S.p.A. CEO has commented: “With the start of operation of the Spaldington wind farm, the first one in England, our growth in renewable energy in the UK continues. The other three projects, currently under construction in Scotland, will bring us, in the first quarter of 2017, to a total of 12 plants, and to an installed capacity of 413 MW in United Kingdom, a growth of 30% compared to today. The historical relationship between Falck Renewables and the local communities in the United Kingdom continues. Spaldington, like all our UK plants will contribute to a community fund managed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council that will finance a number of relevant initiatives for the local community.”
