Germany: WKN wind farm sold to CEE

German wind farm Westerengel to be commissioned in 2016

At the end of 2015 the Husum-based project developer WKN AG has sold the German wind energy project Westerengel to CEE, an investment company located in Hamburg. CEE is belonging to Lampe Equity Management (LEM)-Group, a subsidiary of Bankhaus Lampe. Handover of the project will take place turn-key.

The project Westerengel located in Thuringia consists of seven wind turbines Vestas V112. The turbines will be erected with an installed capacity of 3.3 megawatts each and a hub height of 140 metres. The commissioning of the wind farm is planned as of the second quarter of 2016; corresponding preparatory construction measures have already been taken. The expected annual power production of the 23.1 megawatts farm amounts to more than 50 million kilowatt hours. Thus, when put into operation the wind farm developed by WKN will provide environmentally friendly energy to about 15,000 households in Thuringia.

„After the convincing start with our wind farm Looft (Schleswig-Holstein) this is already the second project which we successfully conclude with CEE”, Dr Jürgen Dambrowski, CFO of WKN AG reports. „For the further development of our portfolio we rely on experienced and trustworthy partners. Therefore, we really enjoy cooperating with WKN“, completes Detlef Schreiber, CEO of CEE.
