UK: Shoreline signs Contract for Simulation Studies of O&M Marine Logistic Strategies at Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm

The main scope of work includes the build-­up of virtual wind farm layouts, and subsequent simulation and analysis at the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm considering various marine logistic and manning concepts including CTV, SOV, SES, HLV and Helicopters, using MAINTSYS™, the unique computer based simulation software developed in?house by Shoreline.  

The study will include simulation and estimation of technical availability, both time and production based, as well as down time identification and the related root cause analysis. Sensitivities concerning the number of technicians, vessels (charter lengths and lead time/mobilization), shift patterns (staggered/night shift) and HSE rules, will be analysed.

Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm is a 50:50 joint partnership between Statkraft and RWE Innogy, with Statkraft managing the development. It is a UK R2 project located 20 miles off the coast of Lincolnshire, with an installed capacity of up to 900MW, which has the potential to generate up to 1900 jobs during construction.

MAINTSYS™ is a cloud based, verified and validated stand-­alone Operation and Maintenance simulation software developed in?house by Shoreline. MAINTSYS™ operates in time domain, and can handle introduction and test of sudden dynamic changes, amongst others. It accounts for the complexity (stochasticity, variability, time dependency and interdependence) of operating and maintaining an offshore wind park. MAINTSYS™ is excellent for “what if” analysis, and has a web based interface designed for user friendliness. MAINTSYS™ simulation is supported by a comprehensive input database with turbines, vessels, helicopter, ports, and other relevant data, and generates advanced output data, which will allow the user to analyze, store and visualize results in 2D, graphs and tables, or as raw data.
