Senvion strengthens management team and changes legal form

The Hamburg-based wind turbine manufacturer Senvion is strengthening its management team in order to further build on the strong performance of the 2014/15 fiscal year. Senvion has appointed Manav Sharma as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Manav Sharma has been at Senvion for more than four years and has headed its Finance department since October 2013. Andreas Nauen, CEO of Senvion, said: “Manav Sharma has a proven track record and has already made great contributions to the performance and development of Senvion in his role as Executive Vice President for Finance, and I know that he will be a great asset to Senvion as Chief Financial Officer.”

Furthermore, the responsibility for Senvion’s products and services divisions will be reallocated across two pillars: Russell Stoddart will continue to lead the company’s service business and quality departments as Chief Reliability Officer (CRO), while Bernhard Telgmann will take charge of the “Product & Technology” divisions.

CEO Andreas Nauen said: “Senvion is an innovative company with outstanding technology, a leading market position and an experienced and dedicated workforce. The past financial year was very successful. We want to continue pressing ahead with Senvion’s growth strategy and are counting on continuity in our management with experienced managers from the wind energy industry. We will particularly invest in product development, excellent service and entering new markets.”

As part of moving into private ownership, Senvion has changed its entity status from SE to GmbH and will now operate as Senvion GmbH. All contracts remain in place in their original entity status. The renaming applies solely to the former Senvion SE; all subsidiaries will retain their current company form.

Further, Matthias Schubert and Martin Skiba – who will remain a member of the Supervisory Board – have been appointed to the Advisory Board. Matthias Schubert co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer of Senvion for 12 years until 2013. He shaped Senvion's product portfolio in both onshore and offshore, and set the course for many innovative products, such as the MM and 3.XM series as well as the 5M and 6.XM offshore turbines. Prof. Dr. Martin Skiba has deep experience in developing and managing offshore wind projects, both under construction and in operation, over the last 14 years. He was the Head of Senvion’s Offshore Division for five years until 2008, and later Head of RWE Innogy’s Offshore Wind Business. CEO Andreas Nauen said: “We are very pleased to welcome back Matthias Schubert and Martin Skiba. With their significant industry experience and intimate knowledge of Senvion they will provide valuable support in delivering on our strategy plan.”Chief Operating Officer Lars Rytter is leaving the company in accordance with his contract. Until a successor has been identified, CEO Andreas Nauen will oversee this department. CEO Andreas Nauen said: “We thank Lars for his contributions and wish him well in his future  endeavours.”
