Formosa Wind closes 8 MW deal on test project

Formosa Wind Power Co. Ltd, where K2 Management is supporting as general consultant, has signed a firm and unconditional Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) for the test project of Formosa 1 Offshore Wind Farm, Taiwan’s first utility-size offshore wind farm.

Siemens Wind Power has been awarded with the contract and will deliver two 4 MW turbines to be installed 2016 for the Formosa 1 Phase 1.

“We are very pleased reaching this important milestone for the project and the future of offshore wind in Taiwan. We are happy and comfortable having K2 Management on our side supporting the negotiations and closing the contracts. Together we will succeed in realizing the project providing clean energy to Taiwan and support our national renewable targets,” Lucas Lin, Project Management Officer at Formosa Wind Power Co. Ltd, comments.

Formosa Wind Power Co. Ltd. is a winner of the Taiwan Government Grant Scheme promoting wind energy development in Taiwan. The Formosa 1 Offshore Wind Farm is located near the coast of Miaoli County.

Co-founder and Partner at K2 Management Per Melgaard is heading up the company’s Asian activities with offices in Thailand, Korea and Taiwan and has been directly involved in Taiwan offshore project.

“We are very pleased and honored that Formosa Wind Power Co. Ltd has chosen K2 Management to support the development of offshore wind in Taiwan. We are looking forward to support the closure of the remaining contracts plus execution and construction of the test project,” Per Melgaard states.
