Senvion connects its 6,000th wind turbine to the grid

Eight Senvion 3.0M122 turbines, designed to produce the highest possible yields at low-wind sites, have been running since May 2015 at the Hollich community wind farm in Burgsteinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Since its inception, the company has installed turbines with a total rated power of over 12,000 megawatts worldwide, together supplying over seven million households with electricity – the equivalent of covering the total demand of all private households in Schleswig-Holstein, Austria and Denmark.

Senvion is a powerful driving force behind wind energy on the domestic market. Senvion SE was established in 2001 as REpower Systems AG as a result of the merger of Jacobs Energie, BWU and pro+pro Energiesysteme and has since grown to become one of the biggest manufacturers of wind energy turbines in the world.
