ABS Group Awarded Multi-Year Quality Surveillance Contract by Nordsee One GmbH for the Nordsee One Offshore Wind Farm

Located in the German North Sea, the wind farm is the first phase of what will be one of the world's largest offshore wind energy facilities, with an expected total output when completed of around 1,000 MW.

ABS Group Ltd., a leading provider of project certification and quality surveillance services for offshore wind farms, was recently awarded a multi-year quality surveillance and inspection services contract by Nordsee One GmbH (The project is owned by Northland Power Inc. (85%) and RWE Innogy GmbH (15%)) for the Nordsee One offshore wind farm project. Located in the German North Sea, the wind farm is the first phase of what will be one of the world's largest offshore wind energy facilities, with an expected total output when completed of around 1,000 MW.

The contract will involve quality surveillance and inspection services relating to the fabrication, manufacturing and installation of the Nordsee One project to confirm that the components and construction meet all of the applicable standards and Nordsee One's quality requirements. ABS Group will deliver the services in multiple manufacturing locations and offshore over the procurement and construction phases of the project, scheduled for 2015 through 2017.

ABS Group has previously supported RWE Innogy with various services for the Nordsee Ost project, carrying out inspections, quality monitoring, root cause analyses, and method statement review for the turbine foundations and a HVS jacket.
