Energiequelle GmbH: 2014 the most successful year in company’s history

For Energiequelle GmbH, 2014 marked the most successful year in the company’s history in terms of newly installed capacity, wind farm management and revenue.

The 140-strong workforce at the group’s two locations in Bremen and Kallinchen (Brandenburg) brought around 50 new wind turbines with a total capacity of more than 110 MW online last year. Of that total, 13 wind turbines producing 32 MW were installed in France.

Further business growth was also achieved last year by the business unit providing technical and commercial management services. The 670 wind turbines and just under 1,200 MW of capacity in its portfolio make Energiequelle one of the most important German providers of management services for renewable energy systems.

‘Our continuous growth in the field of commercial and technical management makes us more independent of the project business, which is subject to persistent variation due to the ever-changing economic framework. Our growth figures for France, now our most important foreign market, are also very encouraging’, says Michael Raschemann, one of the two directors of Energiequelle GmbH.

The total revenue generated by the Energiequelle group in 2014 came to 203 million Euro, a record in the company’s history; a slight increase in workforce size was also recorded.

In 2015, the medium-sized group will install around 35 new wind turbines in Germany and France. A 10 MW/10 MWh battery storage system jointly installed by Energiequelle and Enercon GmbH will enter service in the Brandenburg village of Feldheim in spring. The storage system will provide load-balancing capacity for the power transmission grid.
