Enel Green Power completes Cristal Wind Farm in Brazil
Enel Green Power has completed construction of the third and final plant at the Cristal wind power complex in the town of Morro do Chapéu, in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
The new Cristal wind farm, which gives its name to the entire complex, is composed of 13 turbines of 2.3 MW each, with an overall installed capacity of 30 MW, and is able to generate more than 145 million kWh per year.
The Cristal complex therefore now reaches an overall installed capacity of 90 MW and can generate more than 400 million kWh of power a year.
The construction of the wind complex required a total investment of approximately 165 million euros.
With the new wind farm, Enel Green Power’s total installed capacity in Brazil now exceeds 260 MW, of which more than 90 MW of hydroelectric capacity.
Enel Green Power thus strengthens its operations in the promising renewable generation market in Brazil, one of the world’s leading producers of clean energy thanks to more than 100 thousand MW of installed renewables capacity, representing over 85% of the country’s total installed capacity.
