Uruguay: Talas del Maciel wind farm

Its first phase consists of the installation and commissioning of 25 Gamesa 2-MW wind turbines, a worksite that the company Ciemsa S.A. will be responsible for.

Ormazabal has obtained the supply contract for both the wind turbine cubicles and the substation for interconnection with the distribution network.

The first group involves 63 CGM.3 36-kV fully gas-insulated modular cubicle units, arranged in units made up of CGM.3-L switch-disconnector cubicles and CGM.3-V vacuum circuit breaker protection cubicles which incorporate ekorRPG-202 electronic protection units, designed by Ormazabal.

The substation is fitted with equipment including a 36-kV CPG.0 power GIS-type cubicle assembly, a transformer output, four to wind turbine branches and one to supply auxiliary services, all with circuit-breaker and the latest multiprocessing electronic protection, with IEC 61850 protocol.

This wind farm is expected to enter into operation at the end of 2014.
