ACCIONA will take an active participation in the European wind power trade fair EWEA2014 in Barcelona

The firm will have its own stand, with various activities scheduled between 10 and 13 March, including several presentations and papers, as well as a technical visit to one of its wind farms in Catalonia.

ACCIONA will actively participate in EWEA 2014, Europe's leading annual wind energy trade fair, to be held in Barcelona between 10 and 13 March next. The commercial success of its most advanced wind turbine, the AW3000, is one of the highlights of the company's participation in the event.

ACCIONA Windpower, wind turbine manufacturing subsidiary, has its own stand at the fair, where it will show its range of products, with special emphasis on its 3 megawatt platform, the AW3000, which has garnered great success on the market, with sales and orders pending closure totalling 1,560 MW in just 18 months (2013 and first half of 2014).

The AW3000 is a robust, efficient wind turbine designed to offer maximum production in virtually any wind farm location. There are versions with a rotor diameter of 100 m and 125 m, on a steel or concrete towers with up to 120 m hub height.

EWEA2014 participants will also have the opportunity to see the AW3000 in the field during the technical visit scheduled by the company to the Serra de Vilobí II wind farm, located in the municipality of Tarrés (Lleida), in the afternoon of the 11th. More than one hundred registered visitors will fill the seats available on the buses assigned to the initiative. Before they return, visitors will be offered a cocktail with a tasting of Catalan products.

Presentations and papers

Several ACCIONA officers and technical personnel are to participate in various sessions and give papers within the EWEA 2014 conference schedule. Thus, Rafael Mateo, CEO of ACCIONA Energía and other top executives of leading wind power groups will participate in a panel discussion titled 'What are you doing to get back to your business?' on Tuesday 11, at 8.30 a.m.

Jordi Teixidó, ACCIONA Windpower purchasing manager is to take part in a seminar on 'Opportunities in the Brazilian Wind Power Sector' organised by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Brazilian Wind Energy Association (ABEEolica).

In addition, several of the company's technical representatives are scheduled to participate in sessions of a technological nature. Iván García Maestre will speak on 'Industrial Assembly of a 120 m HH Concrete Tower'; Alejandro González Murua is giving a talk on 'Innovative strategy for a fast and precise frequency control provided by wind turbines' and Javier Ruiz has a presentation on 'Maximizing grid deliverability and leading your business processes to profitability' in a session that will be moderated by Miguel Ezpeleta, director of the ACCIONA Renewable Energy Control Centre (CECOER).

On Wednesday 12, at 6.00 p.m., ACCIONA Windpower is offering a 'stand party' for all who wish to meet in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
