FWT is Market Leader for Servicing Fuhrländer-Wind Energy Plants, Type FL 2500

FWT Trade GmbH (FWT), registered in Waigandshain, Westerwald, is on track for even more success: At the beginning of October 2013, FWT signed another high-volume service agreement for 23 Type FL 2500 plants.

WAIGANDSHAIN (wl) – This makes FWT the world market leader for servicing these Fuhrländer plants despite only having been active in the service market for onshore wind energy plants since March 2013.

FWT is an independent provider of service and maintenance work for wind energy plants. The company is responsible for the full maintenance of 23 Type FL 2500 wind energy plants for the Novoazovsk Project in Ukraine. This full maintenance agreement for 57,5 MW allows FWT to expand its position as market leader in the area of servicing Type FL 2500 wind energy plants.

The agreement, concluded on 1st October 2013, foresees a project duration of 10 years. Before FWT was commissioned with the work, lengthy checks were carried out on technical and commercial aspects. At the conclusion of these, the French-Ukrainian company Beten Energy, having been authorised by the financing bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, (EBRD), London, certified that FWT is the only service company having adequate technical expertise. The EBRD gave its full approval to the highly impressive maintenance concept.

This represents another successful phase in FWT’s still young company history. “The full maintenance agreement concluded shows that our company is an absolutely reliable partner from a technical and commercial point of view”, said Bernd Gieseler, Managing Director of FWT. Meanwhile, 75 trained staff at the former Fuhrländer works in Westerwald is working on the maintenance of wind energy plants, optimising and developing them. Low-volume production has also begun for the 1.5 MW, 2.5 MW and 2.0 MW classes. As early as September, construction of a prototype for the new 3 MW plant was finished – specially designed for inland locations.
