Molins de vent Tarragó: Windmills TARRAGÓ for Vineyards

Montblanc, 16.04.2012. Since a couple of years it is not forbidden any more to implement artificial irrigation systems in vineyards, so that a notorious increase of installations of windmills TARRAGÓ can be counted in vineyards. Most prestigious winemaker like Alberto Fialces (Viñas Rioja), Roberto Ruiz Clavijo (Bodegas Dehesa de Zeladas CB), Paco Oliván (Hacienda Grimón SL), Hernando Ruiz Reza in Ausejo, Ricardo González San Juan Winemaker, Bodegas Dinastía Vivanco SL, Alberto Herce Arnedo and Proncosol Agrícola, SL among others, count as clients of TARRAGÓ in the small precious region La Rioja.

Perforated water hoses in the vine row are installed which supply in a drop-in system water to the food of the plant. Through this way the vine grape obtains the necessary water to survive – and not more than necessary to reach a wine of high quality.

HACIENDA GRIMON, a small family business in Jubera, a small town 15 kilometers close to the capital city of the province Logroño, is a recent client of windmills TARRAGÓ in La Rioja. In the year 1999 the family produced the first wine in the 22 hectare vineyard. The brothers Paco and Eliseo Olivan cultivate per hand the 20 to 40 years old bush plants producing mainly Tempranillo with some Garnacha and Graciano.

For the pest management only few brimstone and copper are used, if at all, since the strong dry and healthy climate almost allows a biological production. The vintage is between 3000 and 5500 kilos per hectare.

For this concrete installation on a surface of 22 hectare a windmill TARRAGÓ M402 has been sufficient.
