4th Wind Energy Industry Day NRW supports NRW cooperation with Belgium and the Netherlands

The 4th Wind Energy Industry Day NRW® held in Cologne on 21 – 22 June 2012 under the patronage of North Rhine-Westphalia’s Environment Minister, Johannes Remmel, will focus on issues of industrial policy and related energy policies in the Netherlands, Bel

As one of the paramount industry meetings in Germany, the 4th Wind Energy Industry Day NRW® will for the first time include an international component with the participation of the Netherlands and Belgium.

Wind energy for North Rhine-Westphalia and its two neighbouring countries is an issue with two sides. A wide range of individual components are produced here for the global wind industry – both for onshore and offshore applications. But wind energy also plays a key role in considerations to change energy supplies over to renewable energies in all countries. A third of Germany’s power, for instance, is generated in NRW, 40% of industrial power is used here.

These two poles are reflected in the topics of the congress at the 4th Wind Energy Industry Day NRW®.

Speakers include:

-Stephan Bergmann, Vestas Deutschland
-Dr. Hans Bünting, RWE Innogy
-Bernhard Fink, ENERCON
-Andreas te Grotenhuis, REpower Systems
-Wim Jenniskens, Holland Home of Wind Energy
-Pieter Jan Jordaens, Sirris OWI-Lab.
-Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Langnickel,VGB Power Tech
-Dr. Annette Loske, VIK - Verband der Industriellen Energie- und Kraftwirtschaft
-Martin Meyer ter Vehn, Siemens
-Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Armin Schnettler, RWTH Aachen

Alongside these talks, a workshop for HR department staff held on 21 June will specifically look at the issue of personnel recruitment and efficiency increase in companies working in the wind industry.

The accompanying exhibition will include all major wind energy plant manufacturers including Siemens, ENERCON, Vestas Deutschland, REpower Systems or Nordex Energy along with international wind farm operators such as Ostwind, wpd or juwi Wind. Around 60 companies have already confirmed their participation, among them the transmission systems manufacturers Winergy and Bosch Rexroth. Other exhibitors include: KENERSYS, GE Wind Energy, Windwärts Energie, 3M Deutschland, AIMS, DOOR International-Germany and ESCHA Bauelemente.

The Industry Day is supported by EnergieAgentur.NRW and the HAUS DER TECHNIK Essen as partners. Held over one and a half days, the event also finds wide support among associations and organisations. The two industry associations BWE-Landesverband Nordrhein-Westfalen and the VDMA are as much on board as the VKU, bdew, the two regional associations Deutscher Städtetag and Städte- und Gemeindebund, the state working group Erneuerbare Energien LEE, the Agentur für Erneuerbare Energien and the WindWest network. From the Netherlands and Belgium, NWEA, vwea, Holland Home of Wind Energy, the Renewable Energy Club AGORIA, Flanders Investment & Trade, and Holland Pioneers in international business, the Consulates General of the Netherlands and Belgium have lent their support to ensure transnational success of the event.
