Wind Industry Profile of
03/07/2012
This week: 1. Deutsche Windtechnik Experts‘ Forum attracts enormous interest – open and informative discussion concerning data transfer with ROTORsoft
This was the title of the first Service Experts‘ Forum of Deutsche Windtechnik held at the end of February 2012. The participants – operators, technical managers, project planners – came from Germany and Switzerland to the central office in Ostenfeld. The objective of the forum was to provide and exchange new ideas and information concerning the development results of ROTORsoft.
To be continued…..
The forum was hosted by the specialist, Stefan Thiemann, Managing
Director of DrehPunkt GmbH, and Torsten Wohlert, Technology
Manager at Deutsche Windtechnik Service. „It was a great day!
The personal contact to other participants proved to be more than
helpful with regard to specialist ideas“, is how the participant
Hans Hobbie, Levanto Service GmbH, described his lasting
impression from the experts’ forum. As a result of the positive
feedback it is planned to continue the experts‘ forum with a
series of new topical issues on wind power and service.
Generating solutions together
Torsten Wohlert describes the character of the event as follows:
„ROTORsoft is the basis of effective operational management of
many windfarms. And it is essential to further develop and
improve software continuously to comply with state of the art
and user requirements. At the experts’ forum we discussed new
solution approaches on various data transfer aspects – the
exchange of ideas was extremely intensive!“
ROTORsoft Modules: Assessing the benefits individually
An example of deployment of the ROTORsoft live data computer
in a windfarm was presented live on screen and with real
components. Error detection is accelerated as a result of
the transfer of current data, and response time reduced.
This is mainly due to improved data collection and
stabilized communication to the windpark via a second,
independent path.
Another discussion point was the improvement of transfer
processes in which data is collected in accordance with
individual requirements. For example, in addition to
operational raw data, planned operating sequences can also
be exchanged. This includes e.g. maintenance, detailed
information on events or documents such as service reports.
The experts‘ forum showed that the benefits of respective
exchange of parameters need to be considered individually
from case to case. At the end of the forum, participants
were given an insight into the ROTORsoft module ‚EisMan
Abrechnung‘. This program enables automatic calculation of
lost supply capacity and the resultant amount in € with
just a few mouse clicks.
