Spain - Gamesa signs MoU with Estonian shipbuilding and engineering company BLRT for wind power in Baltic sea
Estonian shipbuilding company BLRT Grupp, one of the biggest industrial holdings in the Baltic States, and Gamesa, global technological leader in design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind turbines, through the intermediary of Energy Worldwide Holding, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore cooperation opportunities.
The document confirms both companies’ mutual interest in further detailed exploration of cooperation opportunities in the Baltics, informed BC BLRT Grupp’s communications director Katja Ljubobratets.
“For our holding it is a good chance to strengthen our position on the renewable energy market,” explained Kristina Arutjunova, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of BLRT Grupp for offshore industry. She added: “Our holding has significant experience in production of complex steel constructions for the offshore wind energy market. Together with Gamesa we will explore additional opportunities such as establishing an onshore tower manufacturing facility.”
“Gamesa is moving to expand in Northern Europe and more specifically in the Baltic States,” said Dirk Matthys, Chairman for Northern Europe,” therefore we are looking forward to identify cooperation opportunities with BLRT Grupp to support this growth.”
