Denmark - Wind energy at Vestas 'Wonder of Wind'
In cooperation with Masdar, the enterprise that operates to reach the broad boundaries of renewable energy and sustainable technologies industry, Vestas, the world leader in wind turbines, teaches the young generations about wind through educational competitions, idea sharing forums & technology experiences in virtual reality.
Vestas will closely collaborate with MASDAR in a dedicated “Wonder of Wind” area, featuring several interactive programs for children and young people, who will have the opportunity to “learn with fun” about wind farm and its benefits and to take part in online competitions.
The numerous activities will be targeted to different groups of school children, young people, university students and the so-called Young Future Energy Leaders (YFEL). Targeted presentations on wind and its benefits and online competitions will be organized on a regular basis at the ‘Wonder of Wind Area’ and at Vestas’ stand (Hall 5, Stand No. 5410) for kids and young people, whereas university students will also have the opportunity to discover a real V112-3.0 MW from the inside through the virtual reality system: the 3D Vestas nacelle tour which Vestas is showing to people around the globe.
Vestas will be proactively participating in most of the Summit’s events and debates, with several top management representatives joining high profile conferences and round tables, as well as with a series of initiatives targeted to the broadest public and fair’s visitors.
At its 200 square meter exhibition space, Vestas experts will be presenting the new V164 – 7.0 MW offshore wind turbine destined to take offshore wind farm to the next level with its unrivalled energy capture, together with the new service package offer Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000), the energy based availability guarantee that ensures minimized lost production and maximized energy output.
