Spahr Metric: Interview with Chantal Aeschbach, CEO

Chantal Aeschbach talks about Spahr Metric, Inc. in the wind energy industry

Windfair:How long has Spahr Metric, Inc. been in business in the United States? What exactly does Spahr do?

Chantal Aeschbach: Spahr has been in business since 1997 located in Winchester, Virginia. Although we started out as primarily a metric fastener supplier, over the years we have become very strong in metric metals. The demand for metric material has grown greatly with foreign companies relocating to the United States with their manufacturing plants. Especially in wind energy manufacturing, many of the big makers are European based, using metric products.

Windfair: What would you say your strongest attributes are?

Chantal Aeschbach: I would have to say first and foremost, our customer service. Our staff combined has over 30 years experience in steel and fasteners. Secondly I would say our capability to find whatever it is our customer is searching for within the time frame they need and the price they want.

Windfair: What makes Spahr Metric, Inc., different from other metric steel suppliers in the USA?

Chantal Aeschbach: We not only want to help our customers fulfill their needs, but we want to help them with their entire project. Spahr offers a complete importing, warehousing and release program. This allows our customers to get the material they want, when they need it and we hold the price until all of the product is consumed.

Windfair: What are your most important products or services?

Chantal Aeschbach: Within the past several years we have expanded into the wind energy market and are becoming stronger in steel products directly related to wind energy manufacturing. We have reached out to new suppliers and are able to offer more competitive pricing and faster turnaround.

Windfair: Please, sum up Spahr for us.

Chantal Aeschbach: 15 years importing and providing metric steel and fasteners in a cost effective and timely manner throughout the United States. Maintaining and expanding our customer service excellence and knowledgeable staff. Looking forward to a bright future!
