The widest range of companies and organisations ever assembled in support of onshore wind is calling for the new Energy Minister Kwasi Kwarteng to support the development of new onshore wind farms, to help to achieve the UK’s net zero emissions target at the lowest cost, saving consumers money and boosting the competitiveness of industry.

RenewableUK is highlighting new statistics released last week by the Government which confirm that a record amount of the UK’s electricity was generated by wind in 2018.

Commenting on the Government’s announcement that it will set a legally binding target to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, RenewableUK’s Deputy Chief Executive Emma Pinchbeck said:
