Ørsted and bp to develop renewable hydrogen project in Germany

Ørsted and bp have agreed to jointly develop a potential large-scale renewable hydrogen project at bp’s Lingen Refinery in North West Germany (Emsland).

Ørsted, the world's leading offshore wind developer, and Yara, the world's leading fertilizer company, have joined forces in developing a pioneering project aiming at replacing fossil hydrogen with renewable hydrogen in the production of ammonia with the potential to abate more than 100,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to taking 50,000 conventional cars off the road. If the required public co-funding is secured and the right regulatory framework is in place, the project could be operational in 2024/2025.

Maersk Supply Service A/S, a part of A.P. Moller-Maersk, and Ørsted have joined forces to test a proto-type buoy that will act as both a safe mooring point and a charging station for vessels, potentially displacing a significant amount of marine fuel with green electricity. Ørsted appoints Mads Nipper the next CEO of Ørsted

The Board of Directors has appointed Mads Nipper CEO and Group President of Ørsted as of 1 January 2021. Mads Nipper is currently CEO and Group President at Grundfos.
