Equinor and Vårgrønn team up for floating wind at Utsira Nord

Equinor and Vårgrønn have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly apply for offshore wind acreage in Norway for the Utsira Nord area.

Equinor completes farm down of Dogger Bank A and B

Equinor awarding Hywind Tampen contracts worth NOK 3.3 billion

On behalf of the Gullfaks and Snorre partners, Equinor today signed contracts totalling around NOK 3.3 billion for the Hywind Tampen wind farm development.

Equinor and the Snorre and Gullfaks partners have made a final investment decision for the Hywind Tampen offshore wind farm development. Today, two updated plans for development and operation will be submitted to Norwegian authorities.

UK authorities announced today, 20 September, that Equinor and its partner SSE were awarded contracts to develop three large scale offshore wind projects in the Dogger Bank region of the North Sea. This will be the world’s biggest offshore wind farm development with a total installed capacity of 3.6 GW. The projects are expected to produce enough energy to power the equivalent of 4.5 million UK homes.

Enova has approved an application for funding of up to NOK 2.3 billion to support the Hywind Tampen project for developing the world’s first floating offshore wind farm supplying renewable power to offshore oil and gas installations.
