An open letter from the global wind energy industry to G20 and world leaders: Renewable energy can steer us out of the current crisis
Ahead of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting in Washington on 12-13 October 2022, this letter has been sent to all G20 Heads of State and selected world leaders.

We, representing the leading companies in the global wind energy industry, recognise the efforts of the G20, under the Presidency of Indonesia in 2022, to address the current energy security and climate change crises impacting communities around the world. Tightened energy supply, spiking commodity prices, geopolitical conflict, rising inflation and dire events linked to climate change, such as drought, wildfires and flooding, have only underscored the need for strong collective international action to secure global economic growth, stability and...

Wood to play important role in future RES wind farms
Detail_modvion_20221011Making their wind farms more sustainable is one of the most important facts when it comes to using wooden turbine towers. RES now signed an agreement with Modvion, a Swedish manufacturer of such towers. The letter of intend says that Modvion will supply RES developed wind farms with up to 20 towers per year from 2026 to 2036.

The partnership means that RES Nordics will promote Modvion’s modular, wood-based, tower technology to their wind turbine suppliers. The goal is for turbine manufacturers to purchase wooden towers to use in RES developed wind farms. ...

All eyes on wind energy: XERVON Wind
Detail_image__01b_There's no getting around XERVON Wind at the moment as was to be seen last week at WindEnergy 2022 in Hamburg: entering the exhibition grounds, visitors started their stroll with bags with the XERVON Wind logo.

Unusual for a company that is still quite young, as the provider for technical wind turbine services has only been around for one year. Nevertheless, it clearly left its "newcomer status behind", as managing director Maik Schlapmann emphasises.

The company can point to two ...
