Global energy systems in transition
Detail_strom_2According to a new report the use of nuclear energy is falling behind renewables worldwide this year. However it's not only renewables benefiting, but also the number one climate killer, coal. That has consequences for emissions.

The good news: renewable energy production and use in the US reached an all-time high in the first six months of this year as new data recently released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) show. Thus renewable energy accounted for 12.91% of the energy generated in the US for electricity, transportation, heating and other purposes. Wind energy accounted for the largest share of total renewables production (27.78%), and also showed the largest growth, along with solar energy.

Ukraine gets two new wind farms
Detail_goldwind_20210928Chinese turbine manufacturer Goldwind has signed two contracts for the supply of wind farms with 600 MW in the Ukraine.

The company will supply the 337.5MW Zophia wind farm and the 288MW Ochakov wind power project in Ukraine. The two deals marked Goldwind’s major breakthrough in Ukraine, making it a frontrunner in the local market.
