In the past, offshore wind technology often benefited from other industries and their developments and experience. In the early years that was mainly developements of the oil and gas industry. And now even NASA wants to help.

Ares was the name of a series of launchers planned by NASA, which were developed between 2006 and 2010. But the program was stopped in 2010 for financial reasons (see picture below, copyright: NASA).
