innogy SE and Primus Energie GmbH have signed a cooperation agreement: innogy takes over a project pipeline in Thuringia from the Regensburg based onshore developer, which has an overall capacity of 400 megawatts. It consists of 23 wind farms of different development stages. Until their commissioning, Primus Energie will continue to develop the projects as service provider for innogy. Both sides have agreed to keep the purchase price as well as all further contract details confidential.

“We want to develop wind energy and enhance our portfolio in our home market, as well. To do so, we are looking selectively for cooperations with other project developers. With Primus we have an experienced, competent and regionally well positioned development partner at our side. Together we can now get started in Thuringia, too, and jointly achieve successes in the wind business. We will offer flexible participation models to local authorities, municipal utilities and anyone wishing to become a wind farmer," says Hans Bünting, Vorstand Erneuerbare Energien bei innogy SE

Jürgen Meyer-Menz, Managing Director of Primus Energie GmbH: „To be able to develop projects successfully even during turbulent times, we have brought in innogy as an extremely experienced, financially strong wind allrounder which has proven its competitiveness not least with its successes in auctions in Germany and abroad.“

innogy and Primus Energie are recognised partners for the Fair Wind Energy in Thuringia seal (“Faire Windenergie Thüringen”) by the Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency (ThEGA). Both partners intend to implement the project pipeline as stipulated by the ThEGA guidelines. This includes, among other things, an early involvement and information of local residents, fair and transparent agreements with land owners as well as a close and trusting cooperation with the relevant decision makers. ThEGA checks in regular intervals whether the seal owner’s conduct is in line with the guidelines, thus ensuring that the awarded companies act in a transparent and fair manner.
