German transmission system operator TenneT has awarded Jan De Nul and Hellenic Cables a turnkey contract to supply three HVAC offshore grid connection cables for the offshore wind farms to be built in zones N-3.7 and N-3.8 in Germany.
The fact that offshore wind foundations act as artificial reefs for many marine creatures is not a new discovery. Flora and fauna use the turbines to settle and spread there largely undisturbed, as shipping and fishing are prohibited between the wind turbines.
